If speculations are to be believed, the first single of Vijay-starrer Varisu, will be released for the occasion of Diwali, thus kickstarting the film promotions. 

However, an official announcement is awaiting from the makers. Varisu is scheduled to released in theatres for Pongal 2023. It will release in Telugu as Vaarasudu.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and the supporting cast includes Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Shaam, and Srikanth. The film, produced by Sri Venkateshwara Creations, is set to release on Pongal 2023.

Varisu's music is composed by S Thaman and  cinematography by Karthik Palani. Praveen KL will be handling the editing department.
