A week after the official announcement of Rajinikanth's 169th film with Doctor director Nelson Dilipkumar, there's another rumour doing rounds on social media about the veteran actor's next project. Speculations are rife that Arunraja Kamaraj will be directing Rajinikanth's 170th film. However, there is no official confirmation on behalf of the stakeholders involved.

Reports also suggest that Valimai producer Boney Kapoor, who is currently bankrolling Arunraja's under-production project, Nenjuku Needhi, will be producing the forthcoming project. Considering the nascency of the project, further details related to the project are currently under tight wraps.

Arunraja's Nenjuku Needhi, meanwhile, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin is an official remake of the 2019 hit Hindi film, Article 15. The film is expected to hit screens shortly. Rajini, on the other hand, is yet to begin shooting for the Nelson directorial.
