Raangi, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Trisha in the lead role, is set to release in theatres on December 30, the makers announced on social media.

Directed by Saravanan, who previously helmed Engeyum Eppothum, the long-pending film Raangi was wrapped up in February 2020. Produced by Lyca Productions, the script for Raangi has been penned by AR Murugadoss. The film has music by C Sathya, a frequent collaborator of Saravanan who has composed for his earlier films Engeyum Eppothum and Ivan Vera Mathiri. The film is shot by cinematographer Shakthi.

While much is not known about the plot of the film, in a video released by the makers, Trisha appears to have performed some stunt sequences. Raangi is expected to be thriller.

Meanwhile, Trisha, who was last seen in epic period drama Ponniyin Selvan-1, has various projects under production. She is awaiting the release of Ponniyin Selvan's second part, in which she plays Chola princess Kundavai. Trisha also recently wrapped up with her web series Brinda and speculations are rife that she will be part of Thalapathy67 starring Vijay and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
