CE Features

Kamal Haasan, who is currently shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram, is speculated to collaborate with filmmaker Vetri Maaran for his next film. Committee member of Kamal's political party Makkal Needhi Maiam, and veteran actor Sripriya mentioned the project during an interview to a YouTube channel.

Speaking about making a sequel to Papanasam, Sripriya said, "Kamal Haasan sir is busy with a lot of work right now. He has been working for the upcoming local body elections, and he also has to host Bigg Boss Tamil 5. Apart from that, he has to focus on the two films in hand. The first is Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram, and the second one is with Vetri Maaran. Only after all of these commitments are fulfilled, will we get an idea about Papanasm 2."

According to reports, Vetri Maaran's film will be an adaptation of an epic novel that will be bankrolled by Gopuram Films. An official confirmation is awaited.

Meanwhile, Kamal also has Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 film, in development. Vetri Maaran, on the other hand, has Viduthalai, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Gautham Menon, and Suriya's Vaadivaasal in different stages of production.
