It was widely reported for a while that Gokul's (of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame) next film Corona Kumar is headlined by Silambarasan TR. The news is now confirmed, and the film will mark the actor's 48th film.

Silambarasan and the film's producer Vels Film International took to Twitter to announce the news through a one-minute title reveal video. The video has three men wearing lion masks and the jersey of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings announcing the film's name through a megaphone.

The video also makes a reference to 'Kumudha' - a name that was popularised by Vijay Sethupathi's iconic 'Kumudha Happy Annachi' dialogue in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. Notably, it was earlier reported that Corona Kumar is a spin-off of Idharkuthane, with speculations that the original cast members including Vijay Sethupathi will also feature in the upcoming film.

Further, the video also states that a tribute song to CSK will be released tomorrow (October 19) by the team.

Meanwhile, Simbu is awaiting the release of Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu, which is set for a Deepavali release. The actor also has Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thaninthathu Kaadu and Pathu Thala coming up.
