Shankar thanks Suriya, Jyotika for launching his daughter Aditi with Viruman

Karthi is reuniting with Komban director Muthaiya for a new film titled Viruman. 2D Entertainment headed by Suriya and Jyotika is producing this film. Ace filmmaker Shankar's daughter Aditi has been roped in as the female lead. The makers of the film announced the news by releasing the actor's first look.

Shankar took to Twitter to thank Suriya and Jyotika for launching his daughter through their production house, which is known for backing quality films.

Viruman was formally launched today and the shoot is set to begin on September 18 in Theni. Suriya, Karthi, Aditi, Shankar, Bala and a few others were present at the launch event.

Set in a rural backdrop, the film is touted as a family entertainer. Rajkiran, who was a part of Komban, is also on board Viruman. Prakash Raj and Soori are also set to play supporting roles.

Viruman will mark director Muthaiya's first collaboration with music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. SK Selvakumar of Maanagaram fame will be handling the cinematography.

Meanwhile, Karthi's next will be Sardar, directed by PS Mithran. He also recently wrapped up his portions for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan.
