Ravi Teja's Khiladi, which was scheduled for theatrical release on May 28, has been postponed amid the surge in Covid-19 cases across the Telugu States.

"The release of Khiladi stands postponed indefinitely due to the rising Covid-19 cases. We will finalise a new date when the environment is more conducive for a theatrical experience," says a statement from Koneru Satyanarayana, the producer of the film.

A remake of the Tamil heist film Sathuranga Vettai 2, Khiladi is directed by Ramesh Varma and it features Dimple Hayathi and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the leading ladies. The film has Ravi Teja in a dual role and also stars Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Sachin Khedekar, Nikitin Dheer, Thakr Anoop Singh and Anasuya Bharadwaj in crucial roles.

The team had recently returned to Hyderabad from Italy after calling off the Europe schedule abruptly due to rising Covid-19 cases across Europe.

Last seen in Krack, Ravi Teja will commence shooting for his next film, RT 68, with director Trinadha Rao Nakkina shortly.
