Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

The filmmaker took to Twitter to share the news. "I'm being taken good care of. Will be back soon and stronger," he added.

The director, who is known for films like Maanagaram and Kaithi, helmed the Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Master, which was released earlier this year to positive reception at the theatres.

The filmmaker was gearing up to direct Kamal Haasan in Vikram, a film bankrolled by the actor's home banner, Raaj Kamal Films International.

It is noteworthy to mention that Lokesh had celebrated his 35th birthday earlier this month, on March 14, in the presence of notable filmmakers such as Mani Ratnam, Shankar, Gautham Menon, Lingusamy, Vasanthabalan, and Sasi.
