On Disney Investor Day in December 2020, the much-awaited sequel to Enchanted, titled Disenchanted, was announced alongside other Disney titles. The sequel to the 2007 film, which catapulted its leading lady Amy Adams into mainstream stardom, has been on the radar for over a decade. The latest news about the project confirms that the film is finally materialising.

In a recent interview with JLGB Virtual, music composer and songwriter Alan Menken confirmed that the film has entered production, and actors Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Jimmy Marsden, and Idina Menzel will be returning to play their parts.

"It's really good. It's filming. Amy Adams is in it, Patrick's in it. Idina Menzel's in it... Jimmy Marsden. They're in it," said Menken, who received three Academy Award nominations for his songs in the original film.

Disenchanted, directed by Adam Shankman, is a Disney Plus exclusive film.
