Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes in talks to headline dark comedy thriller The Menu

The film will be directed by Mark Mylod and produced by Adam McKay

Actors Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes are in negotiations to star in Searchlight's dark comedy film The Menu.

Set in a world of eccentric culinary culture, The Menu centres on a young couple who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island to taste a lavish menu that an acclaimed chef has prepared. According to Variety, Taylor-Joy will play one half of the couple, while Fiennes will play the chef.

Mark Mylod will direct the film, with Adam McKay producing through his Hyperobject Industries banner along with Betsy Koch.

Fiennes, known for his roles in Schindler’s List, Quiz Show and the Harry Potter franchise as the infamous Voldemort, was recently seen in Netflix's The Dig. He will return as M in the upcoming James Bond picture No Time to Die and is also set to star in the Kingsman prequel The King’s Man

Taylor-Joy, on the other hand, is known for M Night Shyamalan thriller Split and its sequel Glass, Robert Eggers’ The Witch, and Netflix's popular limited series The Queen's Gambit.

She will soon be seen in Viking drama The Northman, David O Russell's untitled picture and Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho. She is also tapped to star in the Mad Max spinoff Furiosa, in the title role.
