The shoot of Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 7 was temporarily shut down on Thursday after a crew member tested positive for coronavirus.

       We have temporarily halted production on Mission: Impossible 7 until June 14th, due to positive coronavirus test results during routine testing," a Paramount Pictures spokesperson said in a statement. "We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation." The company provided no further details.

 In December, Cruise launched an expletive-filled rant at colleagues on the Mission: Impossible 7 set, after he reportedly spotted a few crew members violating social distancing rules. 

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible 7 also stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Esai Morales. The shooting of the film which was passed early last year because of the pandemic resumed a while ago. The film is set to be released in 2022.
