Kalidas Jayaram has officially joined Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan. The news was shared by the young actor and the director on Twitter. Several sources state that Kalidas will be playing Kamal's son in the film.

Kalidas wrote, "Extremely elated to be a drop in this ocean of a film. Happy to join back with the one and only Andavar!"

Kalidas' father, veteran actor Jayaram, who shares a good rapport with Kamal, had starred alongside him in films like Thenali, Panchathantiram and Uttama Villain. Interestingly, Kamal starred in a cameo in Kalidas' Tamil debut Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum in 2016.

Also starring Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, Vikram went on floors last week. With music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film marks cinematographer Girish Gangadharan's third film in Tamil after Solo and Sarkar.

Meanwhile, Kalidas, who was last seen in Tamil in Oru Pakka Kathai, has the Malayalam film Jack and Jill and an untitled Tamil film with director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi in different stages of production.
