Set in the backdrop of Seshachalam forest, Pushpa tells the story of the red sander smugglers and their nexus to illegally transport the forest produce.

The film features Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady, with Fahadh Faasil and Sunil playing the antagonists. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Earlier in May, when the makers announced that Pushpa will be released in two parts, it was reported that the second instalment will hit screens in the summer of 2022.

Directed by Sukumar, the film will release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
