Actor Mohan Babu's upcoming film Son of India, directed by Diamond Ratnababu, started rolling in Hyderabad today. The film is tipped to be an action entertainer with a patriotic theme.

"The film was launched today and the launch was followed by regular shooting. It's a first-of-its-kind story that showcases Mohan Babu in a never-seen-before role," read a statement from the maker

Vishnu Manchu is bankrolling the film and the makers are eyeing an early 2021 release.

Known for working in blockbusters like Assembly Rowdy, Allari Mogudu, Major Chandrakanth, and Pedarayudu, Mohan Babu is also providing the screenplay for this film.

Meanwhile, Mohan Babu's upcoming action-drama Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra is gearing up for release soon. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film shows the actor as a senior officer named Bhaktavatsalam Naidu, which, incidentally, is Mohan Babu's birth name.
