Wonder Girl series currently under development at CW

The series will join the network’s famed Arrowverse, which currently has The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and the upcoming Superman & Lois

A Wonder Girl series is under development in CW, with Greg Berlanti on board as executive producer.  Berlanti is well-known as a writer, director, and executive producer in many of CW's Arrowverse series and other DC shows.

Variety reports that the one-hour drama will revolve around Yara Flor, a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God. Yara learns that she is Wonder Girl and with her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world.

Dailyn Rodriguez, who served as showrunner on the last two seasons of USA Network’s Queen of the South, is set to write and executive produce alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden for Berlanti Productions. The show is being produced by Berlanti’s shingle in association with Warner Bros Television.

Based on the DC characters created by Joëlle Jones, Wonder Girl has a script development deal at CW, and will join the network’s famed Arrowverse, which currently has The FlashSupergirlLegends of TomorrowBlack LightningBatwoman, and the upcoming Superman & Lois.
