Producer T G Thyagarajan appointed as chair of CII Media and Entertainment South

Thyagarajan, the founder of production and distribution company Sathya Jyothi Films, has produced nearly 40 films

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has named producer T G Thyagarajan as the head of its south initiative for media and entertainment. He was the former President of Tamil Film Producers Council and the General Secretary of South India Film Chamber of Commerce.

Thyagarajan, the founder of production and distribution company Sathya Jyothi Films, has produced nearly 40 films with stars including Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Chiranjeevi, and Shivaji Ganesan. Films such as Moondram Pirai, Pagal Nilavu, and one of the recent box office hits, Viswasam, were produced under this banner. He has also produced over 7,500 television episodes. Sathya Jyothi Films will next be producing upcoming Dhanush-starrer D43, directed by Karthick Naren.

Notably, his father Venus Govindarajan, a veteran producer, also produced national award-winning films. CII is a non-government, not-for-profit organization that partners with government and industry experts for several industries' development.
