BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy has filed a complaint against Zee5's Godman web series alleging that the trailer is degrading the Brahmin community. A summon has been issued asking the director Babu Yogeswaran and producer to appear before police day after tomorrow.

The series, starring Daniel Balaji, Jayaprakash and Soniya Agarwal, was planned to be released on the OTT platform Zee5 this month. But the controversial trailer garnered a lot of negative reviews and hate online. Following that, the trailer was removed from YouTube by Zee5.

Godman reportedly traces the transformation of a gangster into a 'spiritual leader', with the guidance of a guru who believes priesthood is not restricted to a particular caste or community.
