It is rumoured that Vijay’s upcoming film Master, directed by Logesh Kanagaraj, is inspired by a South Korean film called Silenced.

Silenced is about a hero saving deaf and mute children from hostel wardens who sexually abuse them. Upon release, the film made people in South Korea revolt against the government and brought about actions against such hostels.

The rumours that the Vijay-starrer is based on this are reinforced by recent reports about Master. It was revealed that Vijay is playing a professor in the upcoming film, and the team recently shot in a school for differently-abled children.

However, sources close to the film’s unit have said that Lokesh Kanagaraj has written the script of Master himself and it is an original film.

Other than Vijay, the film also stars Vijay Sethupathi. Malavika Mohanan, who was seen in Petta, is paired opposite Vijay in Master.

The latest reports claim that Vijay will be sporting a clean-shaven look in Master for many jail sequences. The makers will be shooting it in Chennai, Delhi, and Shivamogga.
