Suriya's next not to be produced by AVM

CE Features

The Internet was abuzz with rumours that Suriya will next be working on a project titled Yaanai, bankrolled by the famous production house, AVM, which hasn't produced any films since 2014. It was also said that director Hari, with whom Suriya had previously collaborated on Aaru, Vel and the Singam franchise, will be directing Yaanai. But, a source close to the production firm has confirmed that this news is false.

Another source states that Sun Pictures, which recently produced Vijay's Sarkar and Rajinikanth's Petta, is the front-runner for producing the Suriya-Hari film, which was confirmed a while back. The duo will apparently be teaming up for this film before starting on another instalment of the Singam franchise.

Suriya is currently busy with Kaappaan, directed by his other regular collaborator, KV Anand, which will star him alongside Mohanlal and Arya. His NGK with Selvaraghavan is ready for release too.

AVM, meanwhile, is currently planning to produce a web series.
