KV Anand's Suriya-Mohanlal-starrer titled Kaappaan
Kaappaan stars Sayyeshaa opposite Suriya, and also has Boman Irani and Samuthirakani essaying important roles

Tamil cinema ushered in the new year with the announcement of the title of KV Anand and Suriya's third collaboration, Kaappaan. In an innovative move, director KV Anand took to social media to poll fans for the title from three options — Meetpaan, Kaappaan, and Uirka. However, despite Uirka winning the poll, the makers have chosen to name the film Kaappaan.
The first look posters of the film, also starring Mohanlal and Arya, featured Suriya in a suave avatar, with a crisp suit, sunglasses, and guns, lending credence to rumours that he plays a bodyguard to Mohanlal, who is said to be playing the Prime Minister. This is Mohanlal's first Tamil film since the 2014 Vijay-starrer Jilla.
Kaappaan stars Sayyeshaa opposite Suriya, and also has Boman Irani and Samuthirakani essaying important roles. Much like the previous collaborations between Suriya and KV Anand (Ayan and Maatraan), the upcoming film too has music by Harris Jayaraj.
Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, this high-budget action entertainer has cinematography by Abhinandan Ramanujam and Antony in charge of editing.
