In light of the recent terror attack on CRPF soldiers in Pulwama, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced a blanket ban on all Pakistani actors and artists working in the Indian film industry. The organisation has also threatened to initiate strong action against any production house which continues to hire Pakistani artists. 

"All Indian Cine Workers Association strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attack on our soldiers at Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. AICWA stands with the nation in confronting such terror and inhumanity. We're officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in film industry. Any organisations that insist on working with Pakistani artists will be banned by AICWA and strong action will be taken against them," read a notice from AICWA, undersigned by its general secretary, Ronak Suresh Jain. 

Earlier, responding to a warning by the film division of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), music label T-Series had unlisted songs of Pakistani musicians from their online portals, including Atif Aslam’s recently-released song, Baarishein. Actor Ajay Devgn also announced that his upcoming film, Total Dhamaal, which he has co-produced, will not be released in Pakistan.
