Director SS Rajamouli has started shooting for his next film after the enormously successful Baahubali franchise. Tentatively titled RRR, this film marks the first collaboration of Jr NTR and Ram Charan.

While actor-director Samuthirakani has been signed on to play a crucial role in the film, there was suspense until now over the female leads.

According to a well-placed source, Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has been zeroed in on to play one of the lead roles in the period drama. “Ever since her debut in Hindi cinema, Alia has been keen on starring in a Telugu film. She found the offer to be part of RRR, opposite NTR, irresistible, and so, although she has a slew of Hindi films in the pipeline, Alia has agreed to be a part of the project,” informs the source, adding that the other female lead is yet to be finalised. “Search is underway for another suitable female lead. Rajamouli is keen to cast a famous actor either from Bollywood or Hollywood.”

It is also said that Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn will have a crucial cameo in the film. If true, RRR will mark his second collaboration with Rajamouli after Naan Ee.
