Director Puri Jagannadh's son Akash has joined hands with debutant director Anil Paduri for a different love story, titled Romantic. The film, which has story and screenplay by Puri Jagannadh, was launched today, and veteran actors Rama Prabha and Kalyan Ram graced the launch.

"It's a beautiful, yet modern-day love story blended with all the commercial elements. Akash will be seen in a new avatar. The principal shooting has begun in Hyderabad. The female lead and other cast and crew are yet to be finalised," read a statement from the filmmakers.

Produced jointly by Charmme Kaur and Puri Jagannadh, the film will have a newcomer as the leading lady. Akash’s last film, Mehbooba, a cross-border love story, didn't fare well, and the actor is hoping to bounce back with Romantic, the content and script of which he feels is quite unique.
