Meena, who was recently seen in the ZEE5 web series, Karoline Kamakshi, has been off the Tamil screens for more than eight years. However, earlier today, it was announced that Meena is part of Rajinikanth's next, tentatively titled, Thalaivar 168. Though Meena has been on a sabbatical from Tamil cinema, she was acting in Malayalam and Telugu projects.

"Many Tamil cinema fans asked me why I was acting only in Malayalam and Telugu. The truth is I wasn't offered any interesting or exciting characters in Tamil. That's what contributed to the absence," says Meena, whose comeback vehicle will be her seventh film alongside Rajinikanth.

But then, what made her say yes to Thalaivar 168? "Thalaivar 168 is a proper fun-filled commercial film. Naa vara edam ellaam nalla kalakalappa irukkum. The audience will love it," says Meena revealing very little else about the film, which also stars Keerthy Suresh, Soori, and Prakash Raj

With music by D Imman, Thalaivar 168 will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
