Shari Headley returns for Coming to America sequel

Directed by Craig Brewer, the film is all set to go on floors later this month and is slated to release on December 18, 2020

Shari Headley is set to reprise her role as Lisa McDowell in the sequel to the 1988 film, Coming America. Headley who played the love interest, who ventually becomes the wife, of Eddie Murphy's Prince Akeem, joins Arsenio Hall, John Amos, Paul Bates and James Earl Jones in the sequel.

While the original followed Akeem's travel from the fictional African nation of Zamunda to New York to find himself a life partner, the follow-up will trace the return of Akeem, now king of Zamunda, to America after he discovers that he has a son he never knew about.
