Mohanlal and Sangeeth Prathap are reuniting after Thudarum with Hridayapoorvam, which is releasing this Onam. The film’s director Sathyan Anthikad held their collaboration in high regard in a recent interview with Kaumudy. “It brings a different combination, like the collaboration between Mohanlal and Jagathy Sreekumar or him and Sreenivasan,” said Sathyan. The filmmaker also cited Sangeeth’s role as Amal Davis in last year's blockbuster Premalu as an example of his popularity as an actor. “The combination between Sangeeth and Mohanlal is the highlight of this film. They are both Ustads of natural acting,” said the filmmaker. The director also disclosed that Sangeeth burst out in laughter the most while doing combination scenes with Mohanlal. Their sequences together in Tharun Moorthy’s blockbuster film Thudarum are also among the hard-hitting film’s lighter moments.
According to Sathyan Anthikad, Sangeeth has been able to hold his own while acting with a legend such as Mohanlal. He credited part of it to the legendary actor, with whom he has collaborated on a number of films in the past. The filmmaker revealed that Mohanlal broke the ice with Sangeeth on the first day of shoot and eventually built a friendly rapport with him. “Mohanlal told both Sangeeth and Malavika Mohanan that he had acted with their fathers. Malavika's father KU Mohanan is a well-known cinematographer, whereas Sangeeth’s father Prathap worked as part of cinematographer Jayanan Vincent's camera unit.”
Earlier, Sangeeth, who is also known for his work as an editor on films such as Sarkeet and Jai Ganesh, celebrated his birthday with his Hridayapoorvam cast and crew. The film is to release in theatres on August 28, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Althaf Salim’s Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira as well as Kalyani and Naslen’s Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. It also stars Sangita, Siddique, Janardhanan, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, Nishan, and Lalu Alex.
