Yogaraj Bhat will direct the second instalment as well, which will be made in three languages and star a well-known actor

Team Panchatantra is basking in the success of the film, which has entered its third week in theatres. Based on the popular hare-and-tortoise fable, the Yogaraj Bhat-directorial has received widespread appreciation, and is playing in around 80 theatres across Karnataka.

Given this success, the makers have decided to come out with a sequel. Panchatantra - Part 2, we hear, will be bigger in terms of the making and the cast. Helmed by Yogaraj Bhat again, it will be simultaneously made in three languages -- Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Producers Hariprasad Jayanna and Hemanth Paradkar will once again bankroll the project.

The makers plan to go on floors with the sequel once Bhatru completes work on Gaalipata 2 and his project with Shivarajkumar.

The idea for the sequel was finalised a couple of days ago, and work on the script will start soon. The team, which is planning to come with yet another universal concept, wants to  retain the ‘race’ as the story’s backdrop. This, they feel, is what helped them connect with the audience.

Panchatantra features Vihan and Sonal Monterio in the lead, and also stars Rangayana Raghu. However, for the sequel, the makers are looking to rope in a hero who is well known across the Kannada, Telugu and Tamil industries.
