Actor Aashish Raj’s forthcoming film Ego has been cleared by the CBFC with a U/A certificate. The film produced under VKA Films by Karan brothers--Vijay, Kaushal and Anil--is set for release on January 19.

Tipped to be a rom-com, Ego revolves around the life of Indu and Gopi and major portions of the film were shot in the Godavari districts.

“It’s going to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer with the right mix of emotions, comedy and romance. The film will prove the acting calibre of Aasish and will be a major break for him as a hero. The trailer and audio have raised the curiosity among the movie buffs and we are confident that this modern love story will do well commercially,” says Anil Karan.

Newcomer Simran Sharma and Diksha Panth are playing the female leads in the film, while Rao Ramesh, Prudhvi and Ajay will be seen in crucial roles. Directed by RV Subrahmanyam, Ego has music by Sai Karthik.
