For actor Jayaram Karthik aka JK, it was difficult to keep everyone guessing about his part in Arjun Sarja’s 150th film Vismaya (Nibunan in Tamil). He had been told to only reveal details once the movie was closer to its release. Today we hear that he plays an antagonist in it, and JK says that he had no choice but to keep mum about it. “This is a big project and I wanted to tell many people that I am part of it, but the filmmakers had zipped my mouth. I was waiting for the release week to shout out ‘Hey I am part of Vismaya’,”  he adds.

The film dubbed into Telugu, will be released as Kurukshetram. “In the Tamil version, another actor Krisha will play my role,” he says.

JK started as an antagonist and was later featured as a hero in a few films. Sharing his excitement about being back as a villain, JK says, “Even now I don’t mind doing negative roles, provided it is memorable and the character I play in Vismaya is one such,” he says.

He is also happy to be back on silver screen after a long gap. “My last movie was SA, in which I had made a special appearance,” he says. “I was tied up with the Hindi serial, Siya Ke Ram, in which I played Raavan, and that took almost one year of my time,” he adds.

Meanwhile the actor has three projects lined up, one of which is currently under production. “I am drawn to acting more and more everyday. It is like a magnet,” he says, adding, “I look forward to getting more scripts from different genres.”
