Nakshatra Murthy asks 'Why should we give money to Anugraha?' amid Resort series controversy

A day after a major controversy broke out between actor Anugraha S Nambiar of Resort series-fame levied serious allegations against its lead actor Vijay Kumar Rajendran (Eruma Saani) and his wife Nakshatra Murthy, the latter has responded to the issue, by sharing her version of the story.

For the unversed, Anugraha recently revealed that she has not received any payment for her work on the JioHotstar series so far and that there has not been any shoot for her over the last four months. She added that she experienced a fall following an epileptic seizure and that she has lately been starving due to her financial condition.

Questioning Nakshatra Murthy's language in an alleged voice message, Anugraha said, "She used a derogatory word and told my friend, who took me to the hospital, to either marry me or ask me to do the series." She further added, "If you want, you remain a stay-at-home wife, but I have ambitions, aims, aspirations, and wishes. I dare to come into this industry to prove myself. Always one woman should standard for another, but I do not seen this here."

Anugraha also mentioned how her friend was treated by Vijay Kumar when he was informed about her health condition. "He said, 'Oh, is that the case? Tell her not to comeback to act in this web series.' This is how they treat someone who works in their team," she revealed.

Nakshatra in her recent video, said that she received a call late at night by a "random guy" who kept screaming in a rude way at her and Vijay Kumar asking money from them. "I was patiently speaking to him. I found out later that he was Anugraha's boyfriend. Vijay Kumar is just the actor. He is not the creator or producer of the series. Why should we give money to her? Why should she ask her boyfriend to resort to such means? He is no one to shout at us," she explained, adding that he had also used "abusive" words at them.

Nakshatra alleged that her issue and the reaction looked "pre-planned." and was made to "trigger" them to the largest extent possible. "They wanted to trigger us. We don't have proof, nor the necessity to indulge in such cheap antics. Anugraha is playing with a proper script. There is no relation between Vijay and your financial distress. You knew what you were signing for. You should have read the agreement many times. Also, we should only pay for travelling to auditions," she said, elaborating how she too "put down" a woman by saying that Nakshatra married Vijay Kumar for "money".

She noted how she was distressed looking at hate and "vulgar" comments that filled her Instagram posts following Anugraha's video. Nakshatra alleged that people were not willing to hear her side of the story and jumped to conclusions soon.

Anugraha later released a second video following Nakshatra's comments, reiterating how she came onboard the series for Vijay Kumar's "face value". She said besides her, many other people have also been affected because of them. "When we asked the production team, they said Vijay Kumar is writing the story. They would say, 'Only when they write the story and your character, we can shoot, right?'. I have addressed this issue with Vijay Kumar several times who gave me lofty promises of elevating my character. Your tongue is your enemy Nakshatra. Why don't you ask your husband on the promises he made to me? If not him, to who else can I ask for my remuneration?" she reacted, asking how they can deduce that it was her boyfriend who called Nakshatra.

"If I wanted 'negative publicity' and PR, I would have levied allegations against him in one month, why should I wait for so long? I wasted my one year waiting for his fake promises to come true," she noted.
