Netflix has released the first images from Run Away, its latest Harlan Coben thriller series headlined by James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, and Alfred Enoch. The gripping adaptation is all set to premiere globally on January 1, 2026.

Described with the tagline “How far would you go to bring her back?”, the eight-part series follows Simon (played by Nesbitt), a man whose seemingly perfect life unravels after his eldest daughter vanishes. When he finally finds her strung out and fragile in a city park, their reunion spirals into a shocking act of violence that sends Simon on a desperate search through a dangerous criminal underworld. His pursuit for truth soon exposes dark family secrets that could destroy everything he holds dear.

The show marks another collaboration between Netflix and best-selling author Harlan Coben, following the success of Missing You earlier this year. Produced by Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios), Run Away is executive produced by Coben through his company Final Twist Productions, alongside Danny Brocklehurst, Nicola Shindler, and Richard Fee.

Brocklehurst also serves as the lead writer, while directing duties are split between Nimer Rashed (episodes 1–3, 7–8) and Isher Sahota (episodes 4–6). Joining the ensemble cast are Lucian Msamati, Jon Pointing, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Annette Badland, Maeve Courtier-Lilley, Ellie de Lange, Adrian Greensmith, Ellie Henry, Ingrid Oliver, Finty Williams, Joe McGann, and Amy Gledhill.

True to Coben’s signature style, the story has been relocated from the U.S. to the U.K., with filming taking place in and around Manchester and the Northwest of England. With its mix of emotional drama, family secrets, and noir-style suspense, Run Away is shaping up to be Netflix’s next must-watch thriller.
