After achieving considerable box office success, Raju Weds Rambai is now gearing up for its OTT premiere. However, there is a twist in the tale — the OTT print of the film will be an extended cut, containing additional scenes as compared to the theatrical version. The same will begin streaming on ETV Win on December 18.

Raju Weds Rambai, based on a series of true events, marked the debut for Venu Udugula as a producer besides being the debut film of both its leads Akhil Uddemari and Tejaswi Rao and director Saailu Kampati. The film also featured Chaitu Jonnalagadda as a key antagonist. The ensemble cast also included Shivaji Raja, Anitha Chowdary and Kavitha Srirangam.

Suresh Bobbili is the music director for the film. In the technical team, Wajid Baid helms the cinematography and Naresh Adupa is the editor. Art direction is by Gandhi Nadikudikar. Venu Udugula co-produced this film in association with Rahul Mopidevi.

Releasing on November 21 and despite having competition with a film like Premante, which had bigger stars, Raju Weds Rambai emerged as a clear winner at the box office. Bankrolled under the banners of Dolamukhi Subaltern Films and Monsoon Tales on a modest budget of Rs 2.5 crores, the film grossed more than Rs 21 crores at the box office worldwide, according to a report from Sacnilk.com.

In our review, we noted, “The climax is undeniably powerful and shocking. Had the narrative been tighter, this could have been a really impactful love story. But this nonetheless remains a good attempt by Saailu Kampati.”
