The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, an upcoming animated comedy series starring and executive produced by Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne, will be available to stream on Prime Video from February 23, 2023. An adult sci-fi comedy, the animated series comes from Cirocco Dunlap and Rudolph, Danielle Renfrew Behrens and Lyonne's Animal Pictures.

Stephanie Hsu, who bagged an Oscar Nomination for Everything Everywhere All At Once, has also been added to the cast of the series as a regular. Other cast members include Keke Palmer, Kieran Culkin and Sam Smith.

Amazon MGM Studios has backed the series with animation handled by Titmouse Studios. The series already has a two-season order.

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy will revolve around alien best friends, Dr Sleech (Hsu) and Dr Klak (Palmer), who are also intergalactically renowned surgeons. They are tasked with handling anxiety-eating parasites, illegal time loops, and deep-space STIs. Season 1 will focus on the doctors taking up a high-risk case, resulting in nearly destroying existence altogether.

Dunlap is credited as creator, showrunner, writer and is executive producing the series along with Rudolph, Behrens, Lyonne, Shauna McGarry, Shannon Prynoski, Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Titmouse’s Ben Kalina.
