Kuiko gets OTT release date

The film marks the directorial debut of D Aril Chezhian

The latest Vidharth and Yogi Babu film, Kuiko, will be released on Netflix on December 22, the streamer announced on Sunday. The film hit theatres on November 24 and opened to unfavourable reviews. 

Written and directed by D Arul Chezhian, who previously wrote Aandavan Kattalai (2016). The filmmaker made his directorial debut with this film, which also stars Ilavarasu, Priyanka, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Durga and Muthukumar among others.

In Kuiko, Yogi Babu plays a commoner who rears camels in Saudi Arabia for a living. When his mother passes away in his hometown, he asks for her mortal remains to be preserved in a freezer box, till his arrival. After the rituals are over, Yogi Babu decides to hold onto the freezer box, in memory of his mother. How the freezer box brings changes in his life, forms the rest of the story.

The technical crew of Kuiko includes music composer Anthony Dasan, cinematographer Rajesh Yadav, and editor Ram Pandian. Backed by AST Films LLP, Kuiko is gearing up for release in November.
