Saiju Kurup to star in Harivarasanam; title poster out

Ajith Vinayaka Films announced the film earlier this Thursday

After the box office success of Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam, actor Saiju Kurup has found his next project. Earlier this Thursday, it was announced that Saiju stars in a film titled Harivarasanam. Billed as a big-budget film, it is directed by Rajesh Nair. Director Rajesh is known for films such as Salt Mango Tree (2015) and Thrissur Pooram (2019), among other titles. Also known as Rajesh Mohanan, he is set to direct the film from a screenplay by Dr Ampadhy K.

The upcoming film is produced by Vinayaka Ajith under his eponymous banner. The producer described it as "a divine tale," offering "an intense blend of emotion, devotion and powerful storytelling." The Harivarasanam title poster features a man carrying a child on his shoulders as they are about to climb the sacred 18 steps at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.

Through a press release, the makers revealed that many prominent actors from South India are also part of the Harivarasanam cast. The film is in its pre-production stage right now. The makers are having a Sabarimala set constructed at Chitranjali Studio in Thiruvananthapuram for its shoot. On the technical front, the film has composer Ranjin Raj of Malikappuram fame, cinematographer Sajad Kaakku, editor Ajiesh Edamon, production designer Rakhil, and project designer P Jayachandran.

Beyond Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam, Saiju Kurup also tasted success as part of the ensemble cast for Aadu 3: One Last Ride – Part 1. The third part in the Aadu franchise reportedly grossed more than 100 crore from theatres worldwide. The actor's upcoming films also include Prempaatta, headlined by Joemon Jyothir.
