Jayasurya's Aadu 3: One Last Ride - Part 1, written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, has crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide on its seventh day in theatres. The makers confirmed the milestone through their official social media handles. Notably, this is reportedly the first time a film led by Jayasurya has achieved this feat.
Released on March 19, Aadu 3 opened alongside the Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge, making its strong box office performance all the more noteworthy amid competition.
The third instalment in the popular Aadu franchise brings back its familiar ensemble, including Vinayakan, Sunny Wayne, Saiju Kurup, Dharamjan Bolgatty and Vijay Babu. Staying true to the franchise’s tone, the film blends slapstick humour with an ambitious narrative that unfolds across three timelines while incorporating elements of fantasy and science fiction. It is jointly produced by Vijay Babu's Friday Film House and Venu Kunnappilly's Kavya Films.
Despite concerns around tensions in the Gulf region at the time of release, the makers chose to stick to their original schedule, a decision that has clearly paid off. With Mohanlal's much-awaited Drishyam 3 now postponed, Aadu 3 is expected to enjoy a smooth run at the box office. Trade circles anticipate further growth in collections as the summer vacation period begins in Kerala, with family audiences likely to drive steady footfall in the coming weeks.
