Aadu 3: One Last Ride – Part 1 continues its strong box office run, with co-producer Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films sharing an emotional note on the film’s reception, particularly in the Middle East. In a social media post, Venu reflected on the challenging circumstances surrounding the release. “This year’s Ramadan and Eid passed under the shadow of unrest and fear in the Middle East,” he noted, adding that when the team locked March 19 as the release date, “there was not even the slightest indication of a war-like situation.”

Despite the situation changing rapidly by the end of February, the makers chose not to postpone the film. While several releases were deferred and distributors expressed concerns, Venu said they decided to move forward, placing their faith in both the film and the region’s systems. “I have experienced many times how strong these systems are when it comes to ensuring public safety,” he said, pointing out that all GCC countries completed the censoring process and theatres remained ready for release. There were initial doubts about audience turnout, but the response exceeded expectations. “Within just two days, nearly 200,000 people across the Middle East came to theatres to watch the film. A result we had never expected,” Venu shared.

Written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the first part in the third instalment of the Aadu franchise brings back familiar faces, including Jayasurya, Vinayakan, Sunny Wayne, Saiju Kurup and Vijay Babu, blending the series’ trademark humour with a more ambitious narrative. Venu also acknowledged the risks involved in backing the project on a large scale alongside Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House. “Many were sceptical… but our belief in the story and screenplay carried us forward,” he said. While modest about the film’s stature, he described its appeal in simple terms: “I do not claim that Aadu 3 is a world-class film… but it is a delightful experience that families can enjoy together.” He added that in tense times, such films hold a special place for audiences seeking relief.

With strong footfall reported both in Kerala and overseas markets, particularly in the Gulf, Venu said the success has been deeply reassuring. “The success of Aadu 3 reaffirms the audience’s trust in Kavya Films,” he noted, adding that audiences have “turned the film into a celebration.” Aadu 3 has already grossed more than ₹50 crore worldwide within its opening weekend, underlining its impressive start despite challenging circumstances.
