The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the Padma Awards earlier today, and it also includes those who have significant contributions to the field of art. The first name on the list of the winners is the late Dharmendra, who has won the Padma Vibhushan. The only other artist to win the Padma Vibhushan this year is violinist N Rajam. The Padma Bhushan winners include singer Alka Yagnik, actor Mammootty, and ad filmmaker Piyush Pandey. On the other hand, the Padma Shri winners include actors Satish Shah, R Madhavan, Anil Rastogi, Arvind Vaidya, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Rajendra Prasad, as well as singer Bharat Singh Bharti.

The full list has five Padma Vibhushan, 113 Padma Shri, and 13 Padma Bhushan awards. Up to 16 of them awards have been granted posthumously, including those to Dharmendra, Satish Shah and Piyush Pandey. The Padma Vibhushan is considered India's second-highest civilian award, followed by Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri at the third and fourth positions. Dharmendra was conferred with Padma Bhushan in 2012, whereas Mammotty won Padma Shri in 1998. Out of the biggest stars in India, Mammootty has the longest gap between two Padma Awards.

India's President will confer the winners with the awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the summer season.
