If reports are to be believed, Nayanthara is set to reunite with Mammootty for his upcoming film with legendary director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Mammootty himself is producing the film, which is reportedly planned to go on floors by the end of January.

Adoor, who has previously collaborated with Mammootty in Anantaram, Mathilukal, and Vidheyan, confirmed their reunion in November 2025. However, he didn't divulge any other details regarding the project.

According to a report in Pappappa.com, Adoor and Mammootty were initially planning to team up for an adaptation of Thakazhi's popular novel Randidangazhi, which was made into a film in the 50s, but later decided to proceed with a contemporary story. Adoor himself is scripting the film, which is in the pre-production stage. Shehnad Jalal of Bramayugam and Dies Irae fame is in talks for handling the cinematography.

Nayanthara has earlier worked with Mammootty on multiple films such as Rappakal, Thaskaraveeran, and Bhaskar the Rascal. The two are also part of Mahesh Narayanan's upcoming multistarrer Patriot.
