This Sunday marks actor Kalyani Priyadarshan's birthday, and she has been receiving wishes from her co-stars and other industry colleagues. Chandu Salimkumar, the actor's co-star in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, also wished her on her birthday. In his birthday wish for her, Chandu made a quirky reference to Chithram, Kalyani's father Priyadarshan's classic film starring Mohanlal, Ranjini and Nedumudi Venu, among others.
Alluding to the line from Mohanlal's character to Ranjini's character in the 1988 film, Chandu wrote, "You are the light of my loneliness.. Love of my heart .. Tune of my song.. Dew of my desert.. Queen of my kingdom.. and I love you Kalyanikutty !" He added, " Happy Birthday Kal Pri." Chandu also dropped pictures featuring him with his Lokah co-star. He also shared a quirky image of the two cutting a cake, with his head being swapped with Michael B Jordan's head. He seems to be alluding to Kalyani's admiration for the Sinners star. In a recent conversation with JFW, she called herself a "huge Michael B Jordan fan".
Regarding the Chithram reference, the moment comes at a point when a drunk Mohanlal character openly confesses his love to Ranjini's Kalyani. The 1988 film follows these two characters who maintain the charade of being husband and wife to give her father (Poornam Vishwanathan), who visits her from abroad, a good time.
Coming back to Chandu Salimkumar and Kalyani Priyadarshan, the two starred together in the recent industry hit Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, directed by Dominic Arun. The Lokah director also conveyed his birthday wish for Kalyani. Sharing an image featuring him with her from the Lokah set, Dominic Arun wrote, "Happy birthday KalPri. I love you Mone."
