Anto Joseph Productions, the banner backing director Mahesh Narayanan's multistarrer Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal, among others, dropped the full trailer earlier this Saturday. The Patriot trailer is 3 minutes and 32 seconds long and gives a fair idea about the film's plot. Judging by the trailer, the film appears to follow those associated with a company named Shakti Solutions, played by Mammootty and Kunchacko Boban, going rogue after their company's so-called 'social evaluator' software, Samaj Seva, disrupts civilian life.

The Patriot trailer begins with Nayanthara's character encouraging Sreeparvathy's character to make honest confessions about something against those who crucify her. Then, Revathi's character, seemingly a high-ranking minister, asks Rajiv Menon's character, "Do you think it is fair to use a software authorised during my term for a civilian case?" Then, we see Fahadh Faasil's character, a Shakti Solutions representative, doing a presentation about the Samaj Seva software. Interestingly, we also see Rajiv Menon's character among the audience for the presentation. And later, Mammootty's character, who calls himself a 'dissident', also does a presentation about the software.

Something goes wrong with the software, as it starts interfering with civilian life. Subsequently, Mammootty's character, Daniel, goes rogue, seemingly in search of the mysteries behind the software program and set things straight, even as there is a look-out notice for him. However, Daniel teams up with his longtime friend and a soldier, played by Mohanlal, to help him with the mission, which even leads to him being labelled a 'traitor'. Kunchacko Boban's character also helps them execute the mission, where Fahadh's character threatens to get in their way, raising the stakes. The Patriot trailer says that the film is "inspired by the lives of dissidents."

The film's ensemble cast also includes Darshana Rajendran, Zarin Shihab, Grace Antony, and Geethi Sangeetha, among others. It is produced by Anto Joseph under his namesake banner alongside KG Anil Kumar. The movie brings Mahesh Narayanan back to a storyline that revolves around the perils of technology after C You Soon, where too Fahadh and Darshana played key roles. It is slated for a May 01 release in theatres worldwide.
