The makers of the Mammootty-Mohanlal-starrer Patriot, revealed that the film will be postponed, from its initially planned release of April 23.

Taking to his social media handle, on Tuesday, producer Anto Joseph wrote, "We are striving to bring Patriot to you in the best possible quality. However, it has become imperative to push it by a few days from the earlier planned April 23 due to the pressure of unforeseen circumstances. Our beloved Mammookka and Lalettan will announce the new release date through their social media pages at 6 pm tomorrow. Expecting your continued love and support."

Billed as a spy thriller, Patriot stars Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist, with Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Darshana Rajendran, Rajeev Menon, Zarin Shihab, Revathy, Grace Antony, Sreeparvathy, Geethi Sangeetha,  Jinu Joseph, Danish Husain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman and Prakash Belawadi, also part of the cast.

KG Anil Kumar is also producing the film, with CR Salim and Subhash Manuel serving as co-producers.

Recently it was announced that the film will open the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, which is set to commence on April 23.
