Sreenath Bhasi's Pongala will hit screens on October 31, announced the makers on Saturday. The film is written and directed by AB Binil, who debuted with the 2022 film Vamanan. Billed as an action-comedy thriller, Pongala is based on real incidents that occurred during the 2000s in the Vypin-Munambam coastal region in Kochi. The makers had recently released a teaser in which Sreenath Bhasi's character is introduced as a brutal thug. The film eyes to present the actor as an action hero for the first time.

Pongala also stars Baburaj, Sampath Ram, Kichu Tellus, Sudheer Karamana, Alencier, Sminu Sijo, Murugan Martin, Sohan Seenulal, and child actor Sreerang Shine, among others. The film has Jackson Johnson wielding the camera, Ajas Pukkadan handling the edits and Ranjin Raj composing the music. Presented by Global Pictures Entertainment, it is produced by Deepu Bose and Anil Pillai, with Dona Thomas serving as co-producer.

Sreenath Bhasi’s upcoming projects also include Udumbanchola Vision, co-starring Mathew Thomas, and G1, a survival thriller, which went on floors recently. The actor is also part of Karakkam, a horror comedy, also starring Sidharth Bharathan, Jean Paul Lal, and Femina George.
