Veteran actor Lissy Lakshmi is celebrating the phenomenal success of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring her daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Lissy shared a heartfelt note along with a carousel of photos from the film’s recent triumphs. “Celebrating the mega success!!  Humble... Happy... and grateful to the Almighty  ! Congratulations & thanks to each and every one who created LOKAH ,” she wrote.

The first image in her post captures a touching moment with Kalyani, as mother and daughter share a hug while Kalyani plants a kiss on her mother’s cheek. The second shows Lissy with actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan, whose Wayfarer Films banner backed Lokah. The third features her with actor Naslen, who co-starred alongside Kalyani in a pivotal role.

The post radiates pride and joy, not just for Kalyani but for the entire team behind Lokah, which has been rewriting box office history. After 18 days in cinemas, the Dominic Arun directorial has grossed ₹88.50 crore in Kerala alone, registering the biggest-ever third weekend for a Malayalam release. Globally, the film is closing in on the ₹250 crore mark, putting it on track to become only the second Malayalam film after Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan to achieve the feat.

Reimagining a beloved Kerala folklore through a superhero lens, Lokah is the first chapter in a planned five-part cinematic universe. With its spectacular momentum, the film has not only cemented Kalyani’s position as one of Malayalam cinema’s brightest stars but has also given her mother, Lissy, more than one reason to celebrate.
