All We Imagine as Light and Humans in the Loop share FIPRESCI-India Grand Prix award

Both films share the distinction of being the best film according to The India Chapter of FIPRESCI

Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine as Light and Aranya Sahay's Humans in the Loop are the joint winners of the 2024 FIPRESCI-India Grand Prix award. Last year, the award went to Anand Ekarshi’s chamber drama Aattam. This latest award means that both films share the distinction of being the best film according to The India Chapter of FIPRESCI.

For your information, Federation Internationale de la Presse Cinematographique (FIPRESCI), also called The International Federation of Film Critics, is a union of national organisations of professional film critics and film journalists worldwide.

Earlier, Payal Kapadia's film won the prestigious Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival. All We Imagine as Light tells the story of nurses navigating life, work, and relationships in Mumbai. The film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon in important roles. It is streaming on JioHostar.

On the other hand, Humans in the Loop tells the story of a tribal woman who goes back to her birthplace in Jharkhand alongside her daughter. It stars Sonal Madhushankar and Ridhima Singh, among others. The film is streaming on Netflix. Recently, the film, backed by filmmaker Kiran Rao, received the prestigious Sloan Distribution Grant from Film Independent.
