The film industry is celebrating Nayanthara's birthday today with memes and other references to her old filmography. One of the actor's memorable roles in Malayalam cinema came in director Siddique's Bodyguard, also starring Dileep in the lead. A long time ago, Siddique commended the actor's professionalism and work ethic during the making of the film. "Whether or not we take the shot, Nayan would come on set with full makeup at 8:50 or 8:55 for the production scheduled to start at 9:00 am. She is highly professional," Siddique said at the time. The filmmaker also revealed that Nayanthara would learn her dialogues for the film very well before the commencement of shoot and that she would go to her caravan only if the crew members informed her of a slight delay in production.

Bodyguard also has a Tamil version, titled Kaavalan, starring Vijay and Asin in the lead roles.

The actor has multiple projects at various stages of production, including Mookuthi Amman 2, Toxic alongside Yash and director Geethu Mohandas, and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu with Chiranjeevi. She is coming back to Malayalam cinema with a role opposite Nivin Pauly in Dear Students, which is also made in Tamil. Her last Malayalam film is Gold, opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran and directed by Alphonse Puthren. Nayanthara's Malayalam projects also include Patriot, which is directed by Mahesh Narayanan and also stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Revathi, and Kunchacko Boban, among others.
