Recently, we reported about Summer in Bethlehem releasing theatrically once again in a 4K remastered format with Dolby Atmos sound. Earlier today, Mohanlal took to social media to announce December 12 as the Summer in Bethlehem rerelease date. The film originally hit theatres on September 04, 1998. Directed by Sibi Malayil, it tells the story of two friends, Dennis and Ravishankar, played by Suresh Gopi and Jayaram, respectively, whose lives change when one of their relatives, including his cousin Abhirami (Manju Warrier), pay him a visit at his farmhouse. Abhirami informs him that one of her cousins is in love with him. The rest of the plot follows the adventures of Dennis and Ravishankar and their new female friends at the farmhouse.

Summer in Bethlehem is one of the highest-earning films of 1998. The film is best remembered for its comedy involving Jayaram and the rest of the characters, especially those played by Suresh Gopi, Kalabhavan Mani, and Manju Warrier. It is also remembered for Vidyasagar's music and Mohanlal's cameo role. At the time of its release, the film's makers kept Mohanlal's cameo a surprise for the theatrical audience. The songs, especially 'Confusion Theerkaname', 'Ethrayo Janmamay', and 'Oru Raathri Koodi', are still popular among the audience.
