After Varshangalkku Shesham, literally years later, Vineeth Sreenivasan is making a film, Karam, against his reputation as a director of feel good films. His last film without the so-called "feel good" elements was 2013's Thira, starring his brother Dhyan Sreenivasan and Shobana. Going by the trailer, Karam seems like a violent and gritty action film, following a conflict between militants and an Army Officer. The film stars Noble Babu Thomas in the lead role, alongside the likes of Manoj K Jayan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Johny Antony, Baburaj, and Reshma Sebastian, among others.

Karam reunites Noble with Vineeth after multiple projects, most notably Jacobinte Swargarajyam. Interestingly, Noble served as a producer on Jacobinte Swargarajyam, a feel-good family entertainer. In Karam, meanwhile, he plays an action hero, who breaks bones. The trailer shows his character stabbing someone with a knife and even placing an iron box on another's chest. If the Karam trailer is anything to go by, it appears to be Vineeth's most violent film ever.

The film is produced by Visakh Subramaniam under his Merryland Cinemas banner and Vineeth himself through his Habit of Life label. Noble is also the screenwriter of the film, and he served as one of its three stunt choreographers, alongside Lazare Vardukadze and Irakli Sabanadze.

On the technical front, the film has cinematographer Jomon T John, composer Shan Rahman, and editor Ranjan Abraham. The film is slated for a September 25 release in theatres worldwide.
