Director Sri Ganesh, who is best known for helming 8 Thottakkal, expressed his joy about the upcoming Malayalam remake of his film, through a Facebook post. The film is being remade as Corona Papers. The director also gushed over Priyadarshan's generosity in keeping his name on Corona Papers's first look poster.

The first-look poster which was released on Sunday, carried Sri Ganesh's name as the writer of the film. Taking to Facebook, Sri Ganesh wrote, "It is extremely generous of director Priyadarshan sir to mention my name as a writer in the poster of the film. Usually, in remakes, they don't mention the original writer on the poster...... Priyan Sir was particular & insisted the name of the writer should be on the posters, as he is a core technician too. A thing to learn from Malayalam Industry".

Sri Ganesh also mentioned his love for Malayalam films in the post, "Malayalam Cinema is always an inspiration to me. The films they make, the process  - they happily make their films putting all their heart & how supportive everyone is to each other's work........So many Malayalam films have inspired me & I am really happy the story I wrote is made in the industry I respect the most & by a legendary director."

8 Thottakkal starred an ensemble cast including Vetri, Aparna Balamurali, Nassar, MS  Bhaskar and Meera Mithun. In Corona  Papers, Shane Nigam will be playing the role Vetri essayed.
