Rashmika Mandanna hits back at trolls, warns of legal action

The pan Indian actor calls circulation of an eight-year-old private conversation a serious invasion of privacy as an old interaction of her mother resurfaces online

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has released a statement addressing the release of a private conversation from eight years ago. She stated that the conversation seems to have been recorded and shared without the knowledge or consent of those involved. A small part of it was allegedly taken out of context and widely shared online.

This situation arises as an the conversation involving her mother, Suman Mandanna, has surfaced online. It revisits the time around Rashmika's previous engagement and brings attention back to her personal life. The resurfacing of this material has sparked new controversy and has pulled her family and other people in her life into the limelight.

Describing this act as a serious invasion of privacy and the spread of misleading and harmful information, Rashmika mentioned that she had stayed silent for years despite ongoing attacks.

“For eight years, while the attacks were limited to me, I chose silence. Today, as others are being drawn into this, I cannot remain silent any longer. I choose to draw a boundary,” she said in her statement.

She has now urged everyone sharing the content or related stories to take them down within 24 hours. If they do not comply, she warned that she will take legal action, including sending legal notices to individuals, influencers, digital platforms, and media organizations involved in sharing the material.

“This step is not taken lightly, but it has become necessary,” she added.

In the Kannada section of her note, Rashmika also expressed gratitude to those who have supported her over the years. She emphasized that decisions about her personal life are hers to make alone.
